Health Equity Network Monthly Webinar: January - 3 Years On!
Thank you to everyone who joined our recent webinar reflecting on three years of the Health Equity Network. Alongside the discussion, we gathered feedback through Mentimeter and the chat. A few clear themes came through that we wanted to share here.
What people value most
-
Learning and evidence that helps make sense of health inequalities
-
Hearing what others are doing across the country
-
Connections with people working in similar roles, places, or topic areas
-
A shared language and framing (including Marmot principles) to support local work
What people want more of
-
More opportunities to connect and learn from each other
-
Practical examples of work happening on the ground
-
Clearer ways to ask for and offer support through the Network
-
More collaborative, community-level action
-
Spaces that feel accessible, welcoming, and not intimidating
A key idea that emerged
-
Several people suggested the Network could play a stronger role in enabling peer-to-peer support - sometimes described as pay-it-forward or time banking - where small amounts of time, advice, introductions, or shared learning can make a big difference collectively.
We’ll be sharing more soon about how we plan to respond to this feedback. In the meantime, we hope the recording is useful — and as always, please keep sharing your thoughts and ideas.
The recording is available HERE.
